Our Teachers

Our outstanding qualified and passionate teachers are selected for their personal faith, Christian character, academic background, and commitment to impacting the lives of students. Zion Baptist Academy teachers lovingly encourage students to discover the joy of knowing Jesus Christ personally, nurturing the seeds of faith as they disciple young hearts. God’s Word is woven throughout the fabric of the student’s day. Students discover that Scripture relates to every area of their lives – their personal relationships, their character, how they work and play, how they think and speak, even the subjects they study.

God’s design unfolds whether students are examining the order of the universe, studying the nations of our world, tracing the Christian heritage of our country, or learning to use the gift of language. It is a curriculum and environment that enables us to work in concert with parents to fulfill the calling that we share to

“Train-up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old, he will not depart from it.”

- Proverbs 22:6.

Young Toddlers: 12-23 months

The Young  Toddlers daily schedule provides more structure than the infant room, allowing them the opportunity to learn new skills and develop daily routines. Teachers have daily lesson plans that are developed through our age appropriate curriculum and fully aligned with GELDS (Georgia Early Learning and Development Standards).Children are encouraged to explore their world through play.

The classroom is designed in a way to help toddlers feel safe to move and explore. Throughout the day there are activities that develop gross motor skills as well as fine motor skills. Developmentally appropriate equipment and toys are used in the classroom to encourage learning through play.  Group activities involve art,  weekly music class, circle time, story time, and weekly Mandarin instruction. The toddlers also have their own playground for physical development. Children will begin to identify feelings and independence as they learn the importance of sharing, respect, responsibility and kindness. Daily reports for each child to inform parents on nutrition information, activities, and diapering.

Advanced Toddlers: 24-35 months

Our teachers focus on social, emotional, cognitive and physical needs of the children. Advanced Toddlers are an active group, with our low student to teacher ratios we are able to keep our children happy and safe. The environment of the classroom is designed to facilitate motor skill development as well as social skills through center structured play. Our Advanced Toddlers build language skills through story time, and music. Fine motor skills are developed through drawing, arts and crafts.

As your child grows and learns, your child is more fascinated with exploring his or her environment. Our classroom is an exciting and inviting classroom space for your child to play and discover. Peers may also start to become important to your child at this age as he or she begins to participate in parallel play (playing beside another child). Your child’s vocabulary will also begin to grow as he or she learns and adds new words on a regular basis with the help of our  teachers.

Some of the activities that we do with our advanced toddler classes include, but are not limited to:

Music, Bible Stories, Gross Motor Skills, Mandarin, Social/ Emotional Transitions, Sensory Exploration

  • Read stories to eager young listeners. Our boys and girls work with a partner to read picture books in the reading area to help build literacy skills and a love for books.

  • Engage children in sensory activities

  • Utilize Movement and Music activities to promote a love for music and encourage self expression.

  • Engage children in art activities to explore color, shape, and size.
